Here is the start of a new chapter for wind energy in Saskatchewan!

Here at SCW, we have been developing the community-owned wind project outside of Saskatoon for two years. In that time it has become very apparent that there is substantial province-wide interest in the economic advantages of utilising our world-class wind resource. There is particular interest in the potential for community-owned wind projects to transform our rural communities' economic fortunes.

To better serve these needs we are rebranding and expanding. Today we launch Saskatchewan Community Wind. We have a clear vision and three strategic priorities with which to achieve it.

Our vision: At least 20 percent of Saskatchewan's electricity generated by wind turbines by 2030. There is no economic nor technical reason why this should not be possible. Institutional inertia is the biggest challenge to progress.

Broad community ownership will be a vital component in turning this vision into reality.
